There will be a superbowl party on Sunday, Feb. 7. Doors will open at 3:00. Bring a snack to share and have a good time rooting on your favorite team. See Scott Hehman or Tim Amend for more information.
Lent Fish Fry will begin Friday, Feb. 12 and go thru Good Friday, March 25. Hours will be from 4:30 til 8:00. Extra help will be needed. Anyone interested in donating some time, see one of the trustees. Also, this would be a good way for students to get hours towards community service. See one of the trustees.....their help will be needed!
Nominations for 2016-17 officers will be taking place in the February meetings. Feb. 4 will be 1st nomination of officers and Feb. 11 will be 2nd nominations of officers. Up for nominations will be Exalted Ruler, Leading Knight, Loyal Knight, Lecturing Knight, Secretary, Treasurer, and Tiler, and 5 year Trustee. Anyone interested in being nominated, see Russ before or come to one of these 2 meetings in order to be nominated.
Elections for these offices will be Feb. 18.
KY Elks State Convention will be hosted by Newport Elks Feb 25-28. Cost is $50.00 for Newport members to attend. During this convention, Bill Frommeyer will be going in as KY State President with Kathy becoming 1st Lady. Lets get as many Newport members to attend to support Bill and Kathy for this upcoming year. $50.00 convention fee includes the cost for Friday lunch, Friday fish fry, Saturday Lunch, and Saturday Banquet which will be a prime rib dinner.
Wednesday night dinner will be moved to Thursday night but will not be included in the convention fee. Cost for dinner is $7.00.
